FX100 - STREET

The FX100 system uses a heavy-duty pressure plate with a custom heavy-duty steel sack srganic friction disc. This clutch is engineered for heavy-duty street use. It is specifically designed for extended wear and additional clamping force for the enthusiast who has added an exhaust system, an intake system, up to 50hp NO2 upgrade, or other non-forced induction external bolt-ons. It features only slightly increased pedal pressure, longer life than stock, and normal clutch feel during engagement and disengagement for a very smooth operation. *

FX200 - STREET

The FX200 System uses a heavy-duty Pressure Plate and a Steel Backed Kevlar disc. This clutch is designed for the street enthusiast or weekend racer. The FX200 offers similar torque rating and holding capacity as the FX100, however, its life expectancy is increased with the Kevlar disc. Our Kevlar friction material is non-abrasive and doesn't score the mating surfaces. It features only slightly increased pedal pressure, significantly longer life than stock, and normal clutch feel during engagement and disengagement for the smoothest operation of any stage we offer. The FX250 clutch system has a higher holding capacity than a traditional full faced Kevlar without compromising the street friendly characteristics Clutch Masters is known for.

The FX300 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a Steel Back Segmented Kevlar disc. This clutch is designed for the ultimate street enthusiast or weekend racer running a normally aspirated car equipped with cylinder head work and/or hotter cam(s), or with medium-boost turbo or super-charger, or up to 100hp NO2. The FX300 features only slightly increased pedal pressure, long life disc and positive engagement. The FX300 is only recommended for the street and not for the track. The FX400 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a custom, extremely durable, Sprung Ceramic disc. This is the ultimate extreme duty street and/or road/drag racing system. It is available in a 4,6 or 8 wing (paddle) configuration, with the 4-wing being the more aggressive setup and 8-wing being the less aggressive (please specify which type you prefer). The sprung hub design allows for moderate dampening in high-torque applications, rendering it much more street friendly than solid or rigid designs. This disc is designed for outstanding holding capacity, and rapid heat dissipation. The FX400 ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that may not be ideal for street driven vehicles. *

Warning: Due to the solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design, the FX400 disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, we only use premium ceramic friction material.

The versatile FX500 System uses either the Power Plus I or Power Plus II Pressure Plate along with a solid center 4,6 or 8 wing (paddle) Ceramic Button disc. The FX500 disc is designed for outstanding holding capacity and rapid heat dissipation. The FX500 ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that is not recommended for the street. *


Warning: The FX500 is a Solid Hub (rigid) disc that engages and disengages instantly. This is a Race Only clutch.

Clutch Masters is proud to introduce the finest and most economical multi-plate clutch systems available for today’s high performance vehicles, the 725 and 850 Series. Clutch Masters Twin Disc systems are pure racing technology that also works well in high performance street applications that will be used on the street on rare occasions. They are designed to hold tremendous horsepower and torque ratings, while being reasonable to operate on the track. By increasing the clamping force of the pressure plate and adding to the square inches of usable disc area, CM Twin Discs significantly increase clamping values with an average of 50% increase in pedal pressure depending on the application. The cover assembly is machined from billet aluminum with 25% more tensile strength than the competition’s cast unit. The flywheel is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum to meet SFI spec 1.2 for competition in NHRA, NDRA, IDRC, IHRA, SCCA and NASA. Each aluminum flywheel includes a replaceable heat shield. Steel flywheels are also available on select applications. **


725 SERIES – (7.25” Twin Disc)

The 725 series is a smaller diameter assembly, which creates less rotating mass and offering quicker, and smoother shifting with much better throttle response, ideal for Drag racing applications.

Available Stages:

“Street and Race” (TD7S) – 1 ceramic rigid disc, and 1 fiber tuff rigid disc
“Race” (TD7R) – 2 ceramic rigid discs

850 SERIES – (8.50” Twin Disc)

The 850 series is a larger diameter assembly, which is designed for high horsepower applications. The 850 Series has a higher holding capacity, less clutch chatter, and a smoother engagement compared to the 725 Series. The 850 series Twin disc will accept one sprung disc creating a slightly smoother engagement compared to two rigid discs

Available Stages:

“Street and Race” (TD8S) – 1 sprung ceramic disc, and 1 fiber tuff rigid disc
“Race” (TD8R) – 1 sprung ceramic disc, and 1 ceramic rigid disc.

Benefits of a Clutch Masters Light Weight flywheel:

♦Replacing your OEM flywheel with a light weight flywheel may cause gear noise or a vibration that may not be suitable for everyone. The lighter the flywheel the more gear noise will be produced. Depending on the application Clutch Masters usually recommends Steel flywheels rather than Aluminum flywheels since Aluminum flywheels will cause more gear noise. Aluminum flywheels are usually only recommended for race applications looking to have the least amount of weight as possible. A light weight flywheel may affect the life expectancy of a clutch kit depending on the application.

Going from a Dual-Mass Flywheel (DMF) to a Single-Mass Flywheel (SMF):

A Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) is a flywheel in two concentric parts or two facing flywheels stuck together with flexible compound to damp down transmitted vibration and gear rattle for the gear box. Many newer model vehicles now come standard with a factory DMF. Many times enthusiast choose to replace a DMF with a SMF and here is why:

  • DMF’s tend to be more expensive than a SMF.
  • DMF’s are not designed to be resurfaced like conventional SMF.
  • DMF’s usually weigh 30+ lbs depending on the application which will cause unwanted turbo lag.
  • DMF’s cannot withstand a high rate of abuse and may fail under spirited driving.

Benefits of switching to a SMF:

  • Reduced mass equals increased acceleration.
  • Reduces turbo “lag” in turbo-charged engines.
  • Increased supercharger efficiency due to less drag on the crank.
  • Improved mid-range torque in naturally aspirated engines.
  • SMF are able to be resurfaced and can be reused.

*** Clutch Masters offers Aluminum or Steel SMF depending on the application. We recommend you replace your DMF with a Steel SMF if the vehicle will be driven on the street since it will produce less noise and will be more pleasant to drive on the street compared to an Aluminum SMF. Aluminum flywheels are only recommended for race applications looking to have the least amount of weight as possible. By replacing a DMF with a SMF you may experience gear rattle and a vibration that may not be suitable for everyone. SMF may also reduce the life expectancy of a clutch kit depending on the application.
