KONI

KONI has a long and colorful history starting in 1857 in the Netherlands and was not a shock absorber manufacturer at its onset but made leather equipment for horses and then prior to World War II it began designing and manufacturing a friction type shock absorber and finally after the war it initiated work on the telescopic shock absorber. Later, KONI began to view racing as an avenue that would advance the company’s presence in the automotive industry and consequently participated in an international rally and thus was the start of the KONI presence in the sport of racing until finally winning the World Championship with Tyrell Ford at the wheel winning the driver’s and construction championships and the rest is history. KONI has dedicated itself to the task of improving damping for racing purposes but it has not stopped there and has gone on to improve damping in commercial vehicles as well as things like bridges--no job is too big for KONI and its experts and now KONI has a presence in a potpourri of conveyances and industrial applications being used under the most extreme conditions and are touted to be first when it comes to the designing and manufacturing of shock absorbers and suspension systems.
