About Mechanix Wear

Started in 1991, Mechanix Wear manufactures hand protection and protective gear for a variety of working environments. Mechanix Wear is based out of Valencia, CA, where they design and manufacture all of their products, with a product line that includes shop gloves, driving gloves, heat sleeves, knee pads, gear bags, and more.

You don't give a whole lot of thought to gloves and how they are made unless you are someone who works in a field that lends itself to injury, someone like service members, pit mechanics, construction crew and others. Well, in 1991, high performance gloves were nonexistent and the need for high-performance gloves was apparent in the racing arena and this need was the impetus for the Mechanix Wear product line. Although the original Mechanix glove was designed for motorcycle mechanics for the then AXO Sport company the demand and need was so great it became its own company and today makes seventy types of gloves.
