About Firestone

The 1930’s was a momentous time for Firestone Industrial Products and more specifically 1938 because that is when they patented their first pneumatic expansion device or air spring and thus began the road to a more comfortable ride. The development and improvement of the air spring progressed through the years through Firestone’s ingenuity and dedication. Not one to rest on their laurels, in the 1970’s Firestone began manufacturing heavy duty truck cab and seat springs, and then to reduce the overall weight of a vehicle they developed the very first plastic pistons.

And of course, always with an eye toward the future, Firestone was the pioneer for the injection molded piston in the 1990’s and they also introduced the Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs into their product line. But Firestone was not done yet and in the 2000”s they popularized the air dampening technology with the introduction of the impressive fully integrated intelligent air spring sensor.

Firestone joined the aftermarket arena in the 1980’s with the purchase of Ride-Rite resulting in the expansion of its air spring line of products to include products like the Ride-Rite kits for Light Trucks, Motor Homes, RVs, SUVs and Vans. These popular air helper springs can be easily installed on these vehicles and are designed for safe load-carrying capacity, stability, ride quality and effective braking and air pressure can be adjusted for different load capacities providing optimum load support.

And, of course, Firestone knows you want a smoother ride on your coil spring suspension vehicles, so they provided you with the Firestone Coil Rite Air Helper Springs. And best of all they are designed to fit inside your existing coil springs creating a variable spring rate. No more problems with leveling your vehicle and improvement in braking and handling when you install the Air Helper Springs.

As you can see, Firestone and LMPerformance are here to help you get a smoother ride whatever you drive.
