The AWE Tuning MP4-12C Performance Catalysts are aggressive, unbridled and unique.

Verified to fit both the 12C Coupe and the 12C Spider, the AWE Tuning MP4-12C Performance Catalysts are the first in the world to feature a 200 cell hi-flow catalyst solution.

About the 200 cell HJS HD Catalysts

Due to its dimensions, standard 300 cell HJS catalysts would have been far easier to fit into the McLaren. However, there is no HD (High Durability) spec 300 cell HJS catalyst, and the close engine placement and power output that these catalysts are subject to in the MP4-12C, in our analysis, mandated better. The 200 cell HJS HD catalyst, while significantly more complex to integrate, afforded not only the durability we desired, but the added benefit of significant increased flow over a 300 cell count. In summary, we chose to not settle, because the MP4-12C deserves it.

Peerless build quality

AWE Tuning precision engineering and fixture development permits the factory heat shields to re-attach completely intact, with no deformation or subpar installation results. Further, our integration of proper articulating stainless steel fully lined flex joints provide proper torsional relief between the engine and the fixed muffler mounting points.

Besides factory correct fitment and long term durability, all this engineering adds up to an impressive +46hp and +61tq, as measured on the AWE Tuning in-house Mustang chassis dyno.

AWE Tuning McLaren MP4-12C Performance Exhaust

The AWE Tuning McLaren MP4-12C Performance Exhaust is designed to perfectly smooth the aggressively raw tone that results from mating the AWE Tuning Performance Catalysts to the stock exhaust system. The resulting acoustic character is nothing short of breathtaking, offering a note that is both hard-hitting and exotic.

The exhaust is constructed from mandrel bent 304 stainless steel at 3"diameter throughout and features a small balance opening between the banks which produces the exotic, high pitched wail. The AWE Tuning Performance Exhaust features logo tips evoking the factory geometry in a discrete satin black finish, or an optional high profile bare stainless steel machined finish.

Carbon Fiber Tip Surrounds

AWE Tuning is now also officially carrying Carbon Fiber Exhaust Surrounds for both the MP4-12C and 12C Spider. These surrounds are hand-made to strict tolerances, ensuring OEM quality fitment, and feature high-grade 2x2 Carbon Fiber weave construction. Tested to not fade under extreme conditions.

    (Above) The addition of the AWE Tuning McLaren MP4-12C Performance Catalysts results in notable improvement in power. Gains at the power peaks were 37 wheel hp and 49 wheel torque. This results in gains over 46 crank hp and 61 crank tq. Over stock, a maximum gain of 53 crank hp is achieved at 7840 rpm.

    AWE Tuning and HJS Motorsport (A division of HJS Emission Technology) announced today that AWE Tuning is the first in the world to engineer the application of a 200 cell per square inch HJS Catalyst for the venerable McLaren MP4-12C.
