UMI Performance also installs and tests every chassis and suspension component it makes, right here in the USA, to ensure that they perform as designed.

Make your classic muscle car handle like a modern machine with parts from UMI Performance! Built using the very latest design and machining technology,. We have found that UMI focuses on musclecars from the 1960s to today A-bodies, F-bodies, B-bodies, G-bodies, and Mustangs. Choose from our 100's of components like crossmembers, panhard bars, control arms, K-members, subframe connectors, and more. Many parts fit like stock replacements, so they’re easy to install, but you’ll immediately notice tighter handling that’s easy to tune to your needs. These products and parts greatly add to LMPerformance's line of offerings to our customers.

Our search for good manufacturers and quality products showed LMPerformance that UMI Performance began in 2003 under the leadership of Ryan Kirkwood and the guidance of his father Denny. Together this father and son team developed a large variety of products for many makes and models of GM vehicles as well as the Ford Mustang. Ryan saw a large demand for suspension and chassis products, and felt the market was lacking of options and full of highly priced items. So, on May 31st 2003, UMI began its journey in the aftermarket suspension industry with a 1994 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. This car was used as a test bed for the beginning stages of UMI’s Fox and SN95 platform products. The products began to move very quickly, becoming almost impossible to keep in stock. The faster they manufactured them the quicker they sold. In late 2003, UMI purchased a 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 which was used as their F-Body platform design vehicle. Slowly, products began to arise on the market for the GM F-Body, and quickly UMI Performance became a well respected company, becoming one of the largest suspension manufactures in today’s market, enhancing our line products.

To confirm LMPerformance's selection of UMI Performance as a supplier our further research on UMI indicated it operates out of a 35,000 square foot facility - this new facility located in Philipsburg, PA was recently acquired by UMI in March, 2011. UMI Performance manufactures 99.9% of their products within their facility from start to finish - from raw 24 foot bars of tubing to a finished product on your door step.

UMI 1993-02 3-Point Subframe Connector, Convertible, Bolt In - Camaro V8 / V6
5 Stars UMI 3-point sub-frame connectors (convertible), Date: 4/25/2012

By: Anonymous
Ownership: 1 day - 1 week
Talk about stiffening up the car. Day/night difference in ride and handling. The strut tower bar and tunnel brace helped, but the 3-point sub-frame connectors really stopped all the "wiggling" associated with my Camaro convertible. Instead of the car flexing over ripples in the road, the suspension is soaking up the bumps. Car ride firm, but not punishing. Highly recommended.

Current Mods:
UMI 3-point sub-frame connector, Spohn tunnel brace, spohn strut tower bar

I used these on my 1991 Notchback. I also used the torque box reinforcements and battle boxes. These fit so incredibly well, the subframes hug the contours of the vehicle. Incredibly beautiful for what they are, well that and my installation, see on my site, the completed install: http://www.thatmetalbox.com/Automotive/1991MustangWeldComplete/index.html and earlier work on the install http://www.thatmetalbox.com/automotive/1991MustangBlanchWeld/

UMI 1993-02 Camaro Shock Tower Brace V8 Only
4 Stars umi non-adustable shock tower brace, Date: 8/12/2010

By: safemode
Ownership: 1 day - 1 week
The part itself looks and feels structurally sound and capable of doing the job it's supposed to. It installed in minutes and on my 2001 Z28 it required no modifications at all to brake lines or anything suggested in the instructions. The powder coating is very nice. But I can't base everything on looks. Honestly, I couldn't feel any real difference in handling with the brace installed vs before it was installed. Maybe my car (has t-tops) just doesn't flex in that manner all that much. Either way, it's low cost and appearance dont leave me regretting it, even if I can't tell it's installed.

Current Mods:
no other suspension mods

Ford

These are some of the items you can find at LMPerformance for your Ford

The Ford Motor Company, founded by Henry Ford on June 16, 1903 and based in Dearborn, Michigan, is an American automaker and the world's fifth largest automaker based on worldwide vehicle sales. It is one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as being one of the few to survive the Great Depression and it is the largest family-controlled company in the world, having been in continuous family control for over 110 years. Ford now encompasses two brands: Ford and Lincoln. Late Model Performance can provide parts for 54 models of these American icons whether for street use, racing or off-road the answer to your quest is here.

The quintessential Mustang is well represented at Late Model Performance with a capacious array of parts for chassis and suspension, drive train and transmission, electronics and tuners, interior and exterior accessories, engine components, exhausts, gauges, lighting and induction parts. With body kits from Street Scene, 3dCarbon, RK Sport, Xenon, DURAFLEX, Couture, Carbon Creations the proud Mustang owner has a wide array of types of kits to choose from. The first thing you need to do is decide on the type of material whether fiberglass, polyurethane, ABS plastic, carbon fiber and composite. Polyurethane parts, like the ones manufactured by 3dCarbon, Xenon, Couture and RK Sport, are heavier than fiberglass, not necessarily ideal for racing if weight reduction is the main objective; plus, specialized preparation is required for paint to adhere correctly and it is susceptible to warping under extreme heat. It is; however, extremely flexible, virtually unbreakable and resistant to abrasion and temperature, oil, gasoline and other solvents. Carbon fiber parts, like the one available from the renowned manufacturer Carbon Creations, are ideal for racing because of their extreme strength and light weight; plus, they come clear-coated and don't need to be painted. The significant downside to carbon fiber is its higher cost of production resulting in a more expensive product. The composite creation by Extreme Dimensions, DURAFLEX, is an excellent choice because it is a unique blend of flex resins, fiberglass and plastic that is much stronger than fiberglass and has maximum flexibility; and additionally, it comes with a black primer finish for ease of painting.

Bumping up the horsepower on your Mustang just makes sense and Late Model Performance can help you do that with PYPES’ Exhaust systems, one of the paramount manufacturers of exhaust systems on the market for price and superior quality. PYPES' Mustang exhaust products are made of stainless steel materials for quality and durability and PYPES crossover pipes include dual 409 stainless reinforcement plates at the welds where they are needed most and all pipes are mandrel bent, to allow for the maximum flow of exhaust gasses, which boosts acceleration. With the conjunctive Crossover design it is not unusual to see an increase of anywhere between fifteen and twenty-five HP. A straight path is afforded by the Open Port Exhaust when it is uncapped; however, but you still benefits from the crossover technology and can expect between ten to fifteen HP. An options that is available on this system is the PYPES PYPE Bomb which utilizes a unique louvered core resonated dual wall 304 stainless tip to give you that American Muscle Car sound but not that popping associated with other lesser kits.

The Loudmouth Exhaust by SLP Performance has transformed many cars like the CAMARO SS into modern muscle machines and you can do that too for your Ford car whether it is a CAMARO or not. The exceptional properties; such as exceptional flow characteristics, lighter weight, ease of installation, stainless steel in its entirety and hand-polished dual wall tips in addition to its incredible sound make it an easy choice when thinking about a performance exhaust system.

Another undisputable winner, B&B (Billy Boat) produces a variety of exhaust systems for your Ford, whether it be a Crew Cab, Super Cab, F-150, Expedition or the Mustang. You can be assured of top quality and performance with a B&B exhaust since they are manufactured using the highest yet most practicable quality stainless steel and are engineered to exact specifications when mandrel bent so that you will have undisturbed air flow.
