This is a rear axle bar upgrade for the CTS-V platform by The Driveshaft Shop available at LMPerformance.com. By now you all know the 2009+ cars came with different diameter axle bars so the axles would wrap up and release at different rates, allowing the wheels to release at different times eliminating wheel hop. The factory axles on the 2004-2007 were made the same diameter and wrap up and release at the same rate resulting in wheel hop. If the suspension were set up properly this would not happen, but through our extensive testing, DSS has created a very cost effective solution to this problem. When making the axle bars DSS decided to make the shorter axle the thick one and the longer one skinny. This was determined by basic engineering principles that state a longer bar will twist more then a shorter one (ever use a long extension on a breaker bar ?). The axle bar upgrade includes both axle bars, powder coated black and comes with boots, clamps and grease.

The majority of balancing machines only spin anywhere from four hundred to three thousand RPM but this new balancer that THE DRIVE SHAFT SHOP had custom made to assure primo quality is exceptional because of its ability to dynamically balance at over nine thousand RPM’s. Now let’s talk about the differential and we are sure all you racing aficionados know this but some of you enthusiasts new to racing my want a little help. When your car corners the inner wheel travels a shorter distance than the other wheel and if your car did not have a differential the result would be either an inner wheel that rotates much too fast or the outer wheel would drag and that is certainly not something you want because then your car would be extremely difficult to handle, and you would experience tire damage or possible drive train failure.
