Specially designed crank socket does much more than simply help turn the crankshaft The General Motors “Gen III” LS1/LS6 engine family has become a popular small-block engine platform for today’s enthusiasts but requires different tools during the assembly process. The new COMP Cams® Gen III Engine Crank Socket is specially designed to help rotate the crankshaft via the oil pump drive, using a ½ inch drive socket system.
This uniquely designed tool attaches to the oil pump drive and incorporates a knurled retaining nut that holds your degree wheel in place when degreeing your camshaft. This retaining nut can be loosened while the crankshaft socket is still connected to the oil pump drive, so the degree wheel can be turned when locating the engine’s Top Dead Center point. Made from high quality steel, the new COMP Cams® Gen III Engine Crank Socket is the perfect tool for any LS1/LS6 engine builder.
