A full function hood, the DuMans multi-port extractor hood utilizes natural air flow to remove hot under-hood air. This hood features an under-hood plenum that feeds the extraction ports while properly directing drainage onto the ground away from the engine and suspension. The styling is aggressive without obstructing the drivers view.
The DuMans Mult-Extractor Hood for the C5 Corvette is a functional hood that utilizes four rows of extractor vents to dynamically extract heat and air from under the hood. This action lowers under hood temperatures and provides downforce to stabilize the nose. The hood features metal reinforced attachment points which have been pre-drilled and tapped for the OE hardware. It is a reinforced composite sandwich for strength and a consistant fit. Standard hoods feature a full underlayer to funnel hot air to the extractors while directing any water to the front away from the engine and other underhood components. Each vent is screened with expanded aluminum screen. Optionally the hood can be ordered without screen and with the underlayer cleared away leaving only the bracing. This lightens the hood and provides 20% greater air flow. This Optional order is generally for racing or cars that will not be driven or parked in rain. NOTE: Ground Effects, Body Kits, Bumpers, and Hoods do not come painted. They all need to be prefit to the car before painting. Applications: - 1997 - 2004 Chevrolet Corvette
