History and information about TCI and their products.
Since you are looking at buying a TCI product let us give you some background on the company to instill confidence in you when you make your selection. The history of TCI is a long one and dates back to the year 1868 when it began as a small shop that was determined to do their best to provide high performance transmission parts to a select number of drag racing aficionados. Today TC Is one of the biggest manufacturers and one of the most technologically advanced manufacturers of high performance aftermarket drivetrain products worldwide and they have grown from a small shop to be housed in two locations and they aren’t stopping there because they continue to improve daily. Recognizing that there was a tremendous market in the ever expanding need and desire for high performance street products TCI saw an opportunity and took it and consequently their product line has evolved dramatically with a whopping eighty percent of their product line being developed for people like you who want a high performance vehicle for the road but they continue to stay true to their original goal by devoting twenty percent still to the hard core drag and track racers. You don’t stay ahead of a competitive market by resting on your laurels and TCI is no exception to that rule and were always cognizant of any changes necessary to stay successful and embraced these as a means to an end to be accomplished by innovative ideas. Following a series of ownership changes in 1995 TCI was purchased by FEL-PRO and that led to even more change for TCI on the positive side with an impressive one hundred twenty thousand square foot facility and additional product lines and then again in 1998 FEDERAL MOGUL purchased TCI and then three years later COMP PERFORMANCE GROUP was the buyer. Being part of the COMP PERFORMANCE GROUP has served TCI well since it now is part of one of the largest engineering teams in the aftermarket industry. You can be sure that parts like the TCI Torque Converter 3000+ Stall Speed for your Pontiac Firebird, Formula, Trans Am 1994-2002, Pontiac GTO 2004-2006 and Chevrolet Camaro 1994-2002 found on the LMPERFORMANCE web site are of primo quality because they have been designed and manufactured by one of the best in the industry but also because they have undergone the strictest of quality control procedures requiring triple testing of all parts. Don’t let yourself lose the race because you had a flex plate fail, you know that device that hefty round disc bolted between your crankshaft and torque converter because they have a big job to do in transferring the engine’s torque rearward from the crankshaft to the converter and they are the contact point for the starter to crank your engine during startup so don’t be left at the starting line. Consider the nonpareil flex plate from TCI that are strong and precisely machined and best of all is SFI 29.2 certified and made from plasma-cut, Blanchard-ground, billet steel plate.
