These filters contain a unique synthetic filter media. The fibers are extremely uniform and very small to trap tiny particles without restricting air flow. They flow more air and trap smaller particles than ordinary cotton gauze filters, even the so-called "high performance" types! They perform under the harshest possible conditions to protect expensive engines.

GM has a world-class sports car in the C5, but the stock air filter assembly is VERY restrictive! This filter assembly brings you the highest flow system available for the C5. It incorporates 100% synthetic filtration media (Synteq) developed by Donaldson, the world leader in OE filter technology. Included with this assembly is a unique FLOW INDICATOR. This gauge changes color to let you know when the filter needs cleaning. Clean the filter and reset the indicator and you're ready to go.

In laboratory testing, the Blackwing filter has boasted up to a 90% increase in airflow over the OEM filter with up to 18 additional horsepower over stock and as much as 5 additional horsepower over competitors. It's a simple bolt on installation that requires NO vehicle modifications. All necessary parts and complete instructions are included.
